Photography at this gem in the berkshires
This assignment came together quickly, much as the exhibition and reception I was asked to document did. Earlier in the summer a planned exhibition fell through at Chesterwood so they turned to Jonathan Prince, a local artist, to showcase his large format metal creations around the grounds. On Friday, July 29, the artist spoke about several of the works with visitors. How they were made and his inspirations that stem from his earlier lives in medicine and technology start-ups.

The exhibition, called Elemental Matters: The Sculpture of Jonathan Prince, runs from July 1 to October 24, 2022, at Chesterwood in Stockbridge.
Sunday, September 18, 2022 there will be an artist and curator's tour starting at 4pm. If you can't make that event you may be able to schedule a special guided tour with the staff of Chesterwood at www.chesterwood.org/calendar.
In case Chesterwood is new to you it was the home of Daniel Chester French, noted for his sculpture of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
